This unique and impactful ALS charity swim event will take place in the Hudson River and is approximately 1 mile (1500 meter). The swim course starts at Hudson River Park’s Pier 45 in Greenwich village and finishes at Hudson River Park’s Pier 26 in Tribeca. The first ever city swim took place 3 years ago in Amsterdam. It started as a small fun event to support a worthy cause and is now the most popular charity swim in the Netherlands raising millions every year.
The beneficiary of the 2015 New Amsterdam City Swim will be Project MinE, which compares and analyzes large-scale genetic research into the origins of ALS (also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease).
We will be celebrating the inaugural New Amsterdam City Swim as well as Global ALS Day and Father’s Day. With family in mind, the Finish Fesitval will include fun for the whole family – food, music, children’s activities and live entertainment. We invite you to come with your Dad and extended families.
And if swimming is not your sport, you can still make a difference in the lives of people suffering from ALS; and give them something to look forward to – a world without ALS. Become a volunteer or donate now!
